UNESCO/APCEIU 10TH YOUTH LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP ON GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION (GCED)

Applications are now open for the UNESCO/APCEIU 10TH YOUTH LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP ON GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION (GCED). Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) is committed to empowering youth by providing a dynamic platform for discussion, idea exchange, networking, and mutual understanding on GCED and youth advocacy to drive changes towards a culture of peace at various levels. The Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED, organized by APCEIU, has been held annually since 2015 in collaboration with partners including the GCED Youth Network.

Application Deadline: 14 April, 2024

This year, the online workshop, themed “Youth Voices for Transforming Education through GCED,” extends an invitation to young leaders promoting global citizenship via education to join together for interactive dialogue and experience exchange with fellow global citizens worldwide. The Workshop will take place over ten days, from April 29 to May 10. A funding and support for follow-up efforts will be available to a select group of Workshop alumni!

Participants

50 youth leaders actively engaged in GCED from ODA recipient countries and the Republic of Korea.

Workshop Components

  • Workshop Orientation: 29 April 2024

  • Pre-workshop Study: 30 April – 3 May 2024

Self-paced studySmall group discussion facilitated by the GCED Youth Network

  • Online LIVE Workshop: 6 May – 10 May 2024

  • Lectures & interactive activities on GCED with international experts and youth leaders

  • Sharing of youth advocacy initiatives on GCED and action planning exercise

  • Grant Competition: May 2024 (For Workshop graduates)

  • Mentorship & Project Implementation: May – October 2024

  • Exclusively for selected winners only
