The Gwen Ifill Mentorship Program’s fourth year has been eagerly anticipated by the International Women’s Media Foundation. This programme aims to address the lack of diversity in senior leadership roles throughout American newsrooms. The programme is named in honour of Gwen Ifill, a wonderful friend and mentor who we all adore.

The advantages of mentoring are well known, and there is a desperate need for leaders who can look back and help others climb the success ladder. The Gwen Ifill Mentorship Programme will be led by a team of professionals from a variety of backgrounds that the IWMF has formed. Fellows will be matched with senior media professionals and have the chance to learn from the leadership team. For women and nonbinary journalists from underrepresented backgrounds, this is a crucial professional development opportunity that will pave the way for their future success and leadership in the news industry.
