Job Description:

The Zonal Office of the Finance Officer will offer

  • Support for financial management of all operations provided to the particular zonal office program activities, too.

  • He or she is accountable for processing advances, reconciliation, vendor payments, and zonal travel reimbursement employees, preparation, and the request for a money transfer from the Kampala Head Office among other duties, we have the production of bank reconciliation reports. In this role reports to the Director of the Zonal Office and will cooperate closely with the Senior Finance Officer for Kampala’s Zonal Operations.

  • It’s a full-time job.

  • Ugandan position with a base in Mbarara.

Important Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Prepare vouchers, make wire transfers and payments, and review and certify that everything the supporting documentation complies with USAID and local tax legislation

  • EDC regulations;

  • Take part in planning and monitoring of the budget in cooperation with the Zonal Office In charge;

  • Organize, oversee and keep track on all mobile money transactions coming from the zonal workplace

  • Document accurate and full financial transactions in QuickBooks;

  • Behavior making the most of Stanbic Business Online for bank transactions;

  • Continue ensuring they are acceptable and keep the relevant accounting documents as necessary.

  • for auditing needs;

  • Check and monthly filing of all accounting records in accordance with EDC file retention policies;

  • extra tasks related to the position that the Zonal Director may assign.

Education, training, and experience:

  • perfect applicant for the position of Finance Officer at Education Development Center (EDC)

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business is required for zoning office jobs.

  • any related subject, such as business administration or computing. to have a minimum of 6

  • years of steadily increasing responsibility and directly applicable experience is

  • required. An added benefit is having a graduate degree.

  • understanding of and practical expertise with financial management of USAID-funded programs;

  • Outstanding

  • proficiency in Word and Excel Complete

  • proficiency with and knowledge of accounting programs, particularly QuickBooks Charge

  • reporting and tracking Spending

  • monitoring and reporting variances Knowledge

  • with mobile money management and online banking Knowledge

Dealing with VAT reporting for USAID;

  • Powerful

  • English communication abilities, both written and spoken;

  • Powerful talents in analysis and problem-solving.

  • Language: English proficiency is necessary
