The National Film & Video Foundation (NFVF), an organisation under the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture of the Republic of South Africa, and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) have reopened their joint incentive programme for the co-development of television projects between Canadian and South African producers in Toronto and Johannesburg, respectively.

Financial Details
The 2023-2024 Incentive will have a total available sum of CAN$195,000 (or roughly ZAR2, 549,000), with the CMF and NFVF each contributing CAN$97,500 (or roughly ZAR1,274,500).
Potential Project
The following requirements must be met by eligible projects:
A television-related project;
A drama, a documentary, or a children’s or youth programme;
Include one eligible produce and at least one Canadian producer; and
Obey the guidelines outlined in the agreement for audiovisual co-production between Canada and South Africa.
Unqualified Projects
These projects are not eligible
Live recordings, TV games, talk shows, reality shows, or instructional and ‘how-to’ programmes to be broadcast in schools;
Tourism-related documentaries, “making-of”, reports, news and current affairs programmes, and “docu-soaps”;
Projects that contain pornographic or racist content or call for violence
Promotional materials; and institutional productions that are intended to highlight a particular organisation or its initiatives.
