The Asia Foundation Development Fellows Program 2024 is now accepting applications. The Asia Foundation Development Fellows program is a dynamic and all-encompassing learning opportunity created for extremely talented Asians under the age of 40 to expand their leadership abilities, knowledge of Asian development, professional networks, and exposure to other cultures. The initiative is a reflection of the Foundation’s nearly seven-decade history of supporting the most talented young leaders in the area.

The following elements make up the Asia Foundation Development Fellows program:

  • The Leadership Dialogue and Exchange program in Asia and the Pacific offers a series of highly interactive leadership training modules with executive coaches, site visits with influential development practitioners and thinkers, renowned policy leaders, and local innovators, short assignments, and sessions focused on self-care and wellness for leaders. This program will take place in Cambodia from February 18 to March 1, 2024.

  • The training modules concentrate on strategic thinking and decision-making, working with participants to develop critical perspectives, problem-solving skills, managing change, and introducing innovative approaches in leadership and management, with the overall goal of enhancing leadership skills and potential. Site visits will give fellows the chance to research strategies that have a beneficial effect and increase our understanding of development. Earlier iterations of the program were held in the Philippines, Nepal, Mongolia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore, and Korea, where local needs and difficulties served as a setting for studying theories of change and methods in international development.

  • Fall 2024: Leadership Dialogue and Exchange Program (United States, October 13–26, 2024): The Leadership Dialogue and Exchange Program will carry on the work from the spring session and offer Fellows crucial chances to strengthen their bonds with their cohort, develop fresh perspectives from around the world, and expand their support networks. The Fellows will take part in a wide range of activities over the course of these two weeks, including policy talks, special learning opportunities, and leadership development chances in San Francisco, Washington, DC, and another American city.

Benefits

  • Professional Development Award: Each chosen Fellow will be eligible to receive an award worth up to $5,000 USD. With the help of this financial award,

  • Fellows will be able to create unique programs to develop their leadership abilities and pertinent professional experience in fields that are crucial to their long-term professional development.

  • Each Fellow will be required to create a unique, one-year work plan that may include things like signing up for specialized training programs or short courses, learning a new language, traveling to important regional forums or workshops, or participating in a variety of other enrichment activities.

  • Executive Coaching & Mentoring: The Asia Foundation, with a track record of dedication across Asia and the Pacific, brings significant perspectives to the subject of leadership development.
