In order to be considered for a small grant as a guest speaker, artist, STEAM expert, or athlete/coach to conduct outreach activities that improve understanding of the United States in sub-Saharan Africa, U.S. citizens are invited to submit a statement of interest (SOI) to the Africa Regional Services based in Paris (ARS) of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of African Affairs, Office of Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs for the Annual Speakers Programme for Africa Regional Services Paris.

Annual Speakers Programme for Africa Regional Services Paris typically offers athletic camps and trainings in addition to professional lectures, seminars, workshops, and masterclasses in the arts and culture.
With the help of U.S. embassies and consulates in sub-Saharan Africa, applicants can submit their resumes for review and possible inclusion on ARS’ register of available speakers. This will help them reach their target audiences.
Objectives
Africa Regional Services is happy to inform that, when health and safety regulations permit, financing is available for both online and in-person programmes. This Statement of Interest outlines their priorities, themes, and the steps involved in submitting your application to be a speaker from the United States.
Programmes must be conducted in either English, French, Portuguese, or Spanish. Speakers and performers highlight the cultural collaboration between the U.S. and sub-Saharan Africa and highlight the close ties between their peoples on both sides of the Atlantic.

Financial Details
Available funds total $80,000.
$10,000 is the maximum for each award.
Performance period length: 1 to 12 months.
Participants and Audiences To increase public support for and understanding of American policies, culture, history, society, and values, ARS works in conjunction with U.S. embassy public affairs sections in sub-Saharan Africa to engage the general public, decision-makers, civil society leaders, and opinion-shapers at all levels of society.
eligibility
Individuals having American citizenship who are fluent in French, Portuguese, English, or Spanish and are based in the U.S., Africa, Brazil, or Europe are eligible to apply.
US passport is required as identification; US green card holders who are a part of a performing artist ensemble are also eligible. Commercial or for-profit organisations are not permitted to apply.
Matching or Cost-Sharing
Sharing costs is not necessary.
Other Conditions for Eligibility
Each applicant may only submit one SOI.
To comply with Internal Revenue Services reporting requirements, people must have a Social Security Number.
