2023 Uganda Press Photo Award for Photojournalists and Photographers (cash award of UGX 3,000,000)

The Uganda Press Photo Award application period is now open for 2023. ‘BEYOND THE HEADLINES’ is the theme of the 2023 Uganda Press Photo Award. Daily headlines frequently don’t cover everything. Livelihoods, development, human rights, aid, climate change, and social innovation are just a few of the issues that go mostly unreported.

The Uganda Press Photo Award 2023 aims to provide photojournalists and documentary photographers in Uganda with a platform through this theme so they may share a variety of tales with viewers through photo essays. Through their innovative voices, they will delve further into today’s pressing topics and reveal provocative photo stories of Uganda’s changing social, political, economic, and technological landscape.

They want to inspire photographers to unleash their stories and think critically about more complex subjects and situations. Any topic may be covered in an image submission as long as it clearly relates to the theme and at least half of it was created within the last year.
